There is no universal headlight PPF lifespan. Current premium PPF products may advertise limited warranties of seven, ten or more years, but those terms can vary by region and application, and a warranty for painted body panels may exclude headlight lenses. We give customers the warranty that applies to the exact product and substrate used.
A manufacturer warranty normally covers defined defects under defined conditions. It may exclude accident damage, misuse, poor maintenance, unsupported substrates, installation faults or headlight applications specifically. Our workmanship warranty is a separate promise. Neither guarantees the film will look perfect for the entire period.
Installation quality matters, but it's too simplistic to say edge lifting always means poor sealing. Contamination, excessive stretch, substrate incompatibility, impact, product failure and customer washing can all contribute.
Ask for inspection if there's persistent edge lift, bubbling, cracking, yellowing, delamination, deep cuts, contamination beneath the film, or a visible change in the lamp's light. Don't wait for loose film to collect dirt or obscure the lens.
Removal should be controlled and may require product-specific heat limits. The lens and its coating must be checked afterwards. We won't promise that every aged film will peel away with zero residue or zero risk, especially where the substrate was already damaged.
