Follow the exact film manufacturer's aftercare instructions. Allow the specified adhesion period before washing, use a mild automotive shampoo and soft wash media, remove contaminants promptly, and avoid aiming high-pressure water at film edges. Don't assume every shampoo, coating, polish or solvent is PPF-safe.
Cure and wash restrictions vary by product. As one example, current 3M guidance for certain PPF products advises waiting 72 hours before washing and one week before waxing — but that's an example, not a universal rule. We issue a written aftercare card for the actual film installed on your car.
Small installation moisture patterns can sometimes change during curing, but please don't try to diagnose bubbles yourself. Ask us to inspect persistent pockets, contamination, edge movement or distortion.
“pH neutral” alone does not prove compatibility. Solvents, citrus cleaners, bug removers, tar removers and coating sprays can contain ingredients that affect film or adhesive — check the product label and film guidance first.
Remove insects, bird contamination, sap and road film promptly using a film-approved method. Don't scrape with a blade or use an aggressive kitchen cleaner. Some manufacturers specify diluted alcohol or white vinegar for particular stains — that advice shouldn't be generalised to every film.
Get in touch if film lifts, cracks, discolours, bubbles persist, the lens appearance changes, or a stone impact cuts through the film. Photograph the issue before applying any chemicals or attempting a repair yourself, since unauthorised treatment may affect warranty assessment.
Use the written cure time for the installed film — don't rely on a generic internet rule.

Only if the manufacturer approves the product and method. Abrasives can permanently change the surface.
Only if compatible with the film. Some topcoats need no additional product at all.
